Parish Priest: Fr Jason Miller

Fr Jason serves as the priest of St George's Anglican Church, where his ministry is centered on preaching, teaching, and leading the worship of the Church.

He was ordained a priest in 2008 by Bp William J. Cox.  Before moving to McAlester in 2017, Fr Jason served parishes in Tulsa and central Illinois.

He is Professor of Humanities and Director of the Honors Program at Eastern Oklahoma State College, where he teaches world religions, global cultures, philosophy, and literature.  His personal favorite is an Honors course on J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings

He is married to Rebecca, and together they have four children, one giant dog, and one mischievous cat.

Fr Jason holds an M.A. in Theology from Wesley Biblical Seminary, where he wrote his thesis on St Ephrem the Syrian's Hymns on Paradise.  He also completed graduate study in philosophy at Baylor University.  His ongoing work includes study in disability and the Church, particularly how autistic persons and their families experience belonging in Anglican worship, especially in Holy Communion.

A priest in the ACNA Diocese of Quincy since 2010, he has served two terms on the Standing Committee, as Canon Liturgist, and on the Commission on Ministry.

Fr Jason's ministry is especially shaped by a love for the Book of Common Prayer, the teaching of Scripture, and helping people grow in faith through both worship and understanding.  He would be glad to welcome you to St George's on a Sunday morning.
